Additional Performances Take Place on February 10, February 17 and March 2
New York, New York; January 29, 2013 – Italian-trained opera singer marie-claire will perform a series of shows at the Metropolitan Room in New York City beginning on Saturday, February 2 at 4:00PM. Additional shows will be held on February 10 at 9:30PM, February 17 at 9:30PM and March 2 at 2:00PM. She will perform originals and standards and will be accompanied by pianist, composer and conductor Mavis Pan.
Combining her operatic style with genres including jazz, hip-hop and reggae gives marie-claire a unique sound. She has performed several times at the Metropolitan Room and has also performed at Carnegie Hall. In December 2012, she had the honor of performing the National Anthem at the Barclays Center for the Brooklyn Nets vs. Detroit Pistons NBA game. In her homeland of Dominica, marie-claire has produced and hosted local music programs and events through her company, Girlfullofgold Productions. In addition to performing at the LIME Creole in the Park Festival in Dominica, she has performed at other events including Love Fest in St. Lucia, Jamaica Jazz and Blues and Love Is All We Need in Antigua.
Her completed EP, Chasing Rainbows produced by GRAMMY Award-Winning Producer Scott Jacoby, is a reflection of her first love, the genre of jazz. The full length album entitled Under The Covers is scheduled for release in 2013 with original material and standards.
